Frequently Asked Questions...

1. Does my child need volleyball experience? No prior experience is required. Our youth beach volleyball camps are designed for all levels - from complete beginners learning the basics, to players with experience who want to sharpen their skills. We group athletes by age and ability, so every camper is challenged at the right level and supported by our experienced coaches.

2. What should my child bring? Every camper should bring a water bottle, sunscreen, hat, towel, and athletic/beachwear appropriate for playing in the sand. We recommend labeling personal items. -Half day (9AM-12PM) campers may also want a light snack. -Full-day (9AM-3PM) campers should bring a packed lunch, as afternoons include activities at the ocean in addition to volleyball training.

3. What are camp hours? For most locations, Beach Volleyball runs from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. At select locations, we also offer an all-day option from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, which includes morning Beach Volleyball and afternoons spent at the ocean with fun activities. Please check your location page for your available times.

4. What's the camper-to-coach ratio? We keep our groups small, so every athlete gets attention and stays safe. Our typical camper-to-coach ratio is around 8-10 campers per coach, depending on age and skill level. This ensures individualized feedback, plenty of reps, and strong supervision during all activities.

5. Where is check-in? Look for Beach Volleyball Camps tents at your registered location. Each confirmation email includes your locations information. Camp staff will be there to greet families, confirm registration, and make sure campers are ready for the day.

6. How do I change my week? If you need to switch to a different week of camp, please contact us directly. Changes are based on availability. For details about rescheduling fees and deadlines, see our Policies page.

7. Can I register mid-week? Occasionally, if space allows, we accept mid-week registrations. Please reach out to confirm availability before attending. For most locations, we offer both weekly passes and daily passes, so families have flexibility depending on their schedule.

8. Do you offer discounts or scholarships? Yes, we do offer sibling, returning camper, referral, and scholarship discounts. Since these are handled individually, please visit our Policies page or reach out to us directly for details.

9. Are the coaches certified? Yes - all of our coaches are required to be CPR and First Aid certified before they step on the court. In addition, every coach must pass a background check as part of our safety standards. We only allow coaches to begin working once these requirements are fully completed.

10. How do you handle heat and sun safety? At our Southern California beach volleyball camps, we take sun safety seriously. We provide shaded tents, encourage frequent water breaks, and remind campers to reapply sunscreen throughout the day. On especially hot days, schedules may adjust for safety. (Weather decisions are always made by BVC - see our Policies page for details.)

11. How will I receive camp updates or communication? Most camp communication is sent by email after registration. This includes your confirmation, medical waiver link, and a reminder that your camp week is approaching. On the Sunday morning before your camp begins, we send a Welcome Email with all the details for your specific location and week of camp. If you don't receive any of these emails, please check your spam or junk folder first. If it's still missing, please contact us directly so we can resend it.
